Existing Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Ultimate and Business Unlimited Ultimate+ customers with 2 or more paid voice lines and no existing free lines can activate a new voice line and get the line FREE via monthly bill credits when they BYOD or purchase at FRP.

  • The free line bill credits start within 2 bill cycles from activation.

To keep this free line credit
  • For one year after the offer's announce date (March 7, 2023), customers must maintain the same number of voice (GSM) lines that were active on the account as of that date, plus the newly-activated lines, which includes the free line. Example: An account with 2 active voice lines on (March 7, 2023), must activate 1 new voice line to enroll. They must then maintain all 3 voice lines for 1 full year after (March 7, 2023).
  • After one year, customers must keep at least 2 paid voice lines AND the free new line that was activated to enroll in this offer to continue to receive the credit.
  • No Install cancellations for voice lines will not impact the free line credits.

Review & take action

  1. Go over the offer details and these advisements with your customer so they understand what to do to get and keep this offer:

     Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after activation, but in some cases, it may take up to 2 bill cycles to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill.

    You will lose the free line credits if you cancel ANY voice lines on the account within one year including the new free line. After one year, you must keep at least 2 paid voice line along with the new free voice line activated under this offer to keep the free line credits.

    If you cancel a voice line or change to an ineligible rate plan and lose your free line credits, you have 90 days to resume the canceled line or switch back to an eligible rate plan. You will not receive any credits that were missed.

  2. Confirm customer is on or changing to a qualifying rate plan.
  3. Help customers place their new line activation.

  • On March 9, this promotion was updated to open the eligible customers from the pre-selected existing customers with Segment ID 2023LineOnUsP6w/dcc to any existing customers with 2 or more paid voice lines on Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Ultimate and Business Unlimited Ultimate+ who don't already have existing free lines. All customers who added a line earlier March 9 based on segment availability will continue to receive the offer.
  • Customers can find the Promo code and Bill name and their free line credits on their bill statement.
  • You can see the free line credits in the Frontline Promo Dashboard and Samson on the Discount screen (Actions > BAN Discount or Page Options > Subscriber Discount).

FAQs

This deal is great for preselected existing Magenta MAX customers to add a free new voice line to their account with BYOD or a full price device purchase.

Like all offer requirements, customers may experience unenrollment if they are unable to either meet or maintain the BYOD or FRP purchase requirement for this offer. Do it the right way by probing to right fit customers.

Since this offer requires a new voice line activation, customers shouldn't cancel an existing voice line with the intention of replacing it with a newly activated voice line to take advantage of this offer, even if the cancellation happens after the new voice line activation.

Customers should never be told to cancel lines, before or after a promotion, in an effort to qualify or justify a promotion. If a customer does not need additional lines, explore other promotions or discuss device price points. Driving CHURN to close sales is not the right thing to do.

The free line credit applies to newly activated lines with logic this way:

  • AAL lines with subscriber-level MRC receive the credit first before lines that are included in a family/pooled plan MRC 
  • Lines with lowest MRC receive the credit
  • If multiple lines have same lowest MRC, lines with earliest activation date/time receive the credit

Unfortunately, lines migrated from Sprint do not count towards the new line activation requirement, so customers can not receive this promotion on the migrated line. After migrating to the T-Mobile biller, these customers may add additional new lines to become eligible for this promotion.
