What's the deal?

This deal is perfect for customers switching to T-Mobile with 3 or more voice lines as they get one of the voice lines for free!

2021 Line on Us 12 (Offer ID: OR11877/ BGS69) - Told customer that to qualify for a free line via bill credits, they must activate the required number of voice lines on a qualifying rate plan during the promo period. Advised there is 1 free voice line maximum per account.

Number of paid lines after offer enrollment

New and existing customers: At least 2 paid voice lines.

Examples:

  • Existing customer with 1 line: add 2 lines to have 3 lines total (2 paid, 1 free)
  • New customer: add 3 new lines (2 paid, 1 free)
New line activation
  • New customers must activate at least 3 new voice lines (2 paid lines and 1 free line). 
  • Existing customers with 1 active voice line must activate at least 2 new voice lines (2 paid lines and 1 free line).
  • The following lines/line types do not qualify:
    • MI, Wearable, DIGITS, LineLink, Nest, and SyncUP lines
    • Lines added to the account via COR (Change of Responsibility) or BAN-to-BAN moves
      • Customers performing a COR to open a new account using an existing T-Mobile line, who then add two brand new lines will qualify.
      • Existing customers with more than one paid voice line who released all but one via COR, before the offer's announce date, will qualify after the BAN reflects only one paid voice line and two brand new voice lines are added to the account within the promotional period.
    • Lines converted from NCC/SCNC to normal Postpaid
    • Lines resumed from cancellation
    • Lines with $0 MRC
  • Future-dated activations, Ship-to activations, and T-Mobile for Business orders placed during the promo period qualify.
  • Since this offer requires a new voice line activation, customers can't cancel an existing voice line with the intention of replacing it with a newly activated voice line to take advantage of this offer, even if the cancellation happens after the new voice line activation.
  • If a customer canceled a voice line within the past 90 days, they are not eligible for this promotion.

Payout

Automatic enrollment in monthly bill credits for the line with the lowest MRC activated during the promo period, up to $40 / $45 (with/without AutoPay).

  • The free line bill credits start within two (2) bill cycles from activation. Make-up credits are not applied for any missed cycles if the customer becomes ineligible and then becomes eligible again. 
  • Customers keep the credit for as long as they meet the promo requirements.
  • Credit applies to the voice line charge only. Chargeable add-ons greater than $0 will be the customer’s responsibility to pay.
  • For one year after the offer's announce date (August 2, 2021), customers must maintain the same number of voice (GSM) lines that were on the account when they enrolled in the offer including the new free line. 
  • After one year, customers must keep at least 2 paid new line AND the free new line that was activated to enroll in this offer to continue to receive the credit.
  • No Install cancellations for lines other than the qualifying paid new line and free line will not impact the free line credits.

Review & take action

  1. Explain promo details under What's the deal?.
  2. For existing customers, confirm they are on a qualifying Essentials, Magenta, Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Select, Business Unlimited Advanced or Business Unlimited Ultimate rate plan and have only 1 paid voice line:
    • If they have more than 1 paid voice line, they are not eligible for the offer.
    • If they are not on a qualifying plan:
      1. Educate them about the impacts of changing to the qualifying rate plan (the possibility of losing other promotions like the discounted ONE Plus promo or other retired features).
      2. Change the customer to a qualifying plan before proceeding with the new activation(s).
  3. Review these advisements with your customers and make sure your customer understands:
     New customer: To get this offer, you must activate at least 3 new voice lines of service on a qualifying Essentials, Magenta, Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Select, Business Unlimited Advanced or Business Unlimited Ultimate rate plan during the promotional period.
    Existing customer: To get this offer, you must have only 1 paid voice line of service and activate at least 2 new lines of voice service, all on a qualifying Essentials, Magenta, Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Select, Business Unlimited Advanced or Business Unlimited Ultimate rate plan during the promotional period. Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after activation, but in some cases, it may take up to 2 bill cycles to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill.
    Customers will receive a text message within 24 hours of qualification confirming your enrollment into the promotion
      You will lose the free line credits if you cancel ANY lines on the account within one year after accepting this offer. After one year, you must keep the 2 paid voice lines along with the free line activated under this offer to keep the free line credits.
     If you cancel a line or change to an ineligible rate plan and lose your free line credits, you have 90 days to resume the canceled line or switch back to an eligible rate plan. You will not receive any credits that were missed. Customers who switch to a Magenta or Magenta Plus rate plan after the offer window is closed will keep their free line. New free line credits will apply based on the new AAL MRC.
  4. Process the required activations and start any port-in requests. T-Mobile for Business: Orders must be placed within the promo period, and Digital Checkout must be accepted within the promo period to qualify.

Keeping the free line credit

  • For one year after the offer's announcement date (August 2, 2021), customers must maintain the same number of voice (GSM) lines that were on the account when they enrolled in the offer. 
  • After one year, customers must keep at least 2 paid new line AND the free new line that was activated to enroll in this offer to continue to receive the credit.
  • No Install cancellations for lines other than the qualifying paid new line and free line will not impact the free line credits.
  • If a customer migrates to Magenta, Magenta MAX, or T-Mobile For Business 6-12 or 13+ rate plans after the promo period, they will be allowed to keep their free line.

Reminders

  • You can see the free line credits in FPD from Atlas, QuikView, and Samson on the Discount screen (Actions > BAN Discount or Page Options > Subscriber Discount). Customers can only see their free line credits on their bill.
  • Bills will reflect 2021 Line on Us 12 / Line Discount ID210006.
