What's the deal?

Customers must complete the following requirements during the promo period of January 13 – July 22,2021:

Activate the required number of new voice lines on a qualifying Magenta, Magenta Plus or Magenta MAX rate plan (SOCs below). Also, Business Unlimited (1-12 only) are included below.

Reminder: If a plan's SOC isn't listed in the table below, it is not eligible for the offer. See FAQs for answers about other plans not listed below.

New customers must activate at least 3 new voice lines (2 paid lines and 1 free line).

Existing customers with 1 active voice line must activate at least 2 new voice lines (2 paid lines and 1 free line).

  •  The following lines/line types do not qualify:
    • MI, Wearable, DIGITS, LineLink, Nest, and SyncUP lines
    • Lines added to the account via Change of Responsibility (COR) or BAN-to-BAN moves
      • Customers performing a COR to open a new account using an existing T-Mobile line, who then add two brand new lines will qualify.
      • Existing customers with more than one paid voice line who release all but one via COR before the offer's announce date, will qualify after the BAN reflects only one paid voice line and two brand new voice lines are added to the account within the promotional period.
    • Lines converted from NCC/SCNC to normal Postpaid
    • Lines resumed from cancellation
    • Lines with $0 MRC
  • Future-dated activations, Ship-to activations, and T-Mobile for Business orders placed during the promo period qualify.
  • Since this offer requires a new voice line activation, customers can't cancel an existing voice line with the intention of replacing it with a newly activated voice line to take advantage of this offer, even if the cancellation happens after the new voice line activation.

Limitations
 

  • 1 free voice line maximum per account.
  • Can be combined with Carrier Freedom / BreakFree / Keep and Switch on the same line. Cannot be combined with  BreakFree AMPed.
  • Can be combined with Discount Match if previously enrolled.
  • Can be combined with T-Mobile Perks.
  • Can be combined with device offers on the same line, if eligible.
  • Lines cancelled within the past 90 days must follow the resume from cancel rules and will not be considered new activations for the purpose of adding a free line for this offer.

Payout type

Automatic enrollment in monthly bill credits for the line with the lowest MRC activated during the promo period, up to $40 / $45 (with/without AutoPay).

  • The free line bill credits start within 2 bill cycles from activation. Make-up credits are not applied for any missed cycles if the customer becomes ineligible and then becomes eligible again.
  • Customers keep the credit for as long as they meet the promo requirements.
  • Credit applies to the voice line charge only. Chargeable add-ons greater than $0 will be the customer's responsibility to pay.
Other limits
  • Not available for existing customers who have more than 1 voice line.
  • For one year after the offer's announce date (January 13, 2021), customers must maintain the same number of voice (GSM) lines that were on the account when they enrolled in the offer including the new free line. 
  • After one year, customers must keep at least 2 paid voice lines AND the free new line that was activated to enroll in this offer to continue to receive the credit.
  • No Install cancellations for voice lines will not impact the free line credits.
  • Device offers can be stacked with this offer.
  • Lines activated as part of a previous free line promotion do not count towards the minimum number of lines needed to participate in future line promotions.

  • Prepaid accounts
  • T-Mobile for Business 13+ line accounts
  • Lifeline accounts
  • Migrations from the Sprint biller (including MTME)
  • Existing accounts that already have more than 1 voice line
  • Activations / DASH / ship-to orders placed before January 13, 2021

  • For one year after the offer's start date (January 13, 2021), customers must maintain the same number of voice (GSM) lines that were on the account when they enrolled in the offer. This number includes the new lines activated to qualify for the offer.
  • After one year, customers must keep at least 2 paid voice lines AND the free new line that was activated to enroll in this offer to continue to receive the credit.
  • No Install cancellations for voice lines will not impact the free line credits.

Get the deal

  1. Explain promo details under What's the deal?.
  2. For existing customers, confirm they are on a qualifying plan and have only 1 voice line:
    • If they have more than 1 voice line activated already, they are not eligible for the offer, unless they only had one line at the time the promotion began, and two lines have been added during the promo period. Lines do not have to be added at the same time.
    • If they are not on a qualifying plan:
      1. Educate them about the impacts of changing to the qualifying rate plan (the possibility of losing other promotions like the discounted ONE Plus promo or other retired features).
      2. Change the customer to a qualifying plan before proceeding with the new activation(s).
  3. Review these advisements with your customers and make sure your customer understands:

     
    New customers: To get this offer, you must activate at least 3 new voice lines of service on a qualifying Magenta or Magenta Plus rate plan during the promotional period.

    Existing customers with single voice line accounts: To get this offer, you must have a single-line voice account and activate at least 2 new voice lines of service on a qualifying Magenta or Magenta Plus​ rate plan during the promotional period.

    Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after activation, but in some cases, it may take up to 2 bill cycles to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill.

    Consumer only: You will receive a text message within 24 hours of qualification confirming your enrollment into the promotion.

    Until January 13, 2022, you must keep the same number of voice lines that were on your account when you qualified for the free line credits. This number includes the new lines activated to qualify for the offer. If you do not, you will lose the free line credits.
    After January 13, 2022, you must keep at least 2 paid voice line along with the new free voice line activated under this offer to keep the free line credits.

    If you cancel a voice line or change to an ineligible rate plan and lose your free line credits, you have 90 days to resume the canceled line or switch back to an eligible rate plan. You will not receive any credits that were missed.

  4. Process the required activations. T-Mobile for Business: Orders must be created and completed within the promo period to qualify.

Things to know

  • Customers should never be told to cancel lines, before or after a promotion, to qualify for or justify participation in a promotion. If a customer does not need additional lines, explore other promotions or discuss device price points. Driving CHURN to close sales is not the right thing to do.
  • You can see the free line credits in FDP from Atlas, QuikView, and Samson on the Discount screen (Actions > BAN Discount or Page Options > Subscriber Discount). Customers can only see their free line credits on their bill.
  • The free line credits display on the bill as 2021 Line On Us 1 / Line Discount ID210001. The discount codes for this offer are 20Q42F, 20Q42P, and 20Q42S.
  • On August 24, 2023, the bill name was updated to Line Discount ID210001.
  • Customers are responsible for all taxes and fees on free lines, if applicable.
  • This offer is for a limited time only and subject to change and should be communicated to customers in this way.
  • A rate plan change to a qualifying Go5G Next rate plan will maintain this promo.
