New line activation

Activate the required number of new voice lines on a qualifying Magenta, Magenta Plus, T-Mobile ONE, or T-Mobile ONE Plus voice rate plan or set up a future-dated plan change during the promo period (Amplified, Military, First Responder, Unlimited 55, and any rate plan versions with free ($0) additional voice lines do not qualify).

At least three paid voice lines for both new and existing customers.

  • New customers must activate at least four new voice lines (three paid lines and one free line).
  • Existing customers with at least two voice lines must activate at least two new voice lines (one of the new lines is free).
  • New line scenarios that don't qualify:
    • MI, Wearable, DIGITS, LineLink, Nest, and SyncUP lines
    • Lines added to the account via COR or BAN-to-BAN moves
    • Lines converted from NCC/SCNC to normal Postpaid
    • Lines resumed from cancellation
    • Lines with $0 MRC
  • Future-dated activations, Ship-to activations, and T-Mobile for Business orders placed during the promo period qualify, as long as the activation happens in the next bill cycle.
  • Since this offer requires a new voice line activation, customers can't cancel an existing voice line with the intention of replacing it with a newly activated voice line to take advantage of this offer, even if the cancellation happens after the new voice line activation.

Payout

Automatic enrollment in monthly bill credits for the line with the lowest MRC activated during the promo period, up to $35 / $40 (with / without AutoPay).

  • The free line bill credits start within two bill cycles from activation.
  • Customers keep the credit for as long as they meet the promo requirements.
  • Credit applies to the voice line charge only. Chargeable add-ons greater than $0 will be the customer’s responsibility to pay.

Review & take action

  1. For existing customers, confirm they have at least two paid voice lines. If they have fewer than two voice lines activated, they must activate at least three new voice lines during the promo period to become eligible. Lines do not have to be added at the same time.
  2. Review these advisements with your customers and make sure they understand what to do to qualify based on the promo details found in What's the deal?:

     

    New customer: To get this offer, you must activate at least four new voice lines of service on a qualifying rate plan during the promotional period.

    Existing customer: To get this offer, you must have at least two active voice lines and activate at least two new voice lines of service on a qualifying rate plan during the promotional period.

    Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after activation, but in some cases, it may take up to two bill cycles to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill.

    You will receive a text message within 24 hours of qualification confirming your enrollment into the promotion.

    You will lose the free line credits if you cancel ANY lines that were on the account when enrolled in this offer within one year after accepting this offer. After one year, you must keep at least two paid voice lines along with the paid new line and free line activated under this offer to keep the free line credits.

    If you cancel a line and lose your free line credits, you have 90 days to resume the canceled line to re-enroll. You will not receive any credits that were missed.

  3. Process the required activations and start any port-in requests. T-Mobile for Business: Orders must be placed within the promo period, and DocuSign must be created and completed within the promo period to qualify.

Having trouble?

Keeping the free line credit

  • Customers must keep their account in good standing (not delinquent) with the lines active to receive the free line credits.
    • For one year after accepting this offer, customers will lose the free line credits if they cancel any lines that were on the account when they enrolled in the offer. Exception: No Install cancellations.
    • After one year, they can cancel lines but they must keep at least two paid voice lines AND the new paid and free lines activated under this offer to keep the credits.
  • If a customer loses the free line credits because of a line cancellation, they can resume the canceled lines within 90 days to get the credits back.
  • If the account is suspended for non-payment, the free line credits will stop. Once the account is restored, the free line credits will resume.
  • After the promotional period ends, customers can activate additional lines on their account and keep their free line.
  • Customers will not receive the free line credits they may have missed when canceled or suspended.
  • Mobile number changes and port-ins don't impact the free line credits.

  • Check out current offers: Send your customers to the closest Retail location or assist in activating the lines via Customer Care.
  • You can see the free line credits in Samson on the Discount screen (Actions > BAN Discount or Page Options > Subscriber Discount) or in the Frontline Promotion Dashboard. Customers can only see their free line credits on their bill.
  • The free line credits display on the bill as 19 Magenta Friday Free Line / Line Discount ID190007. The discount codes for this offer are 19Q43F, 19Q43P, 19Q43S.
  • On August 24, 2023, the bill name was updated to Line Discount ID190007.
  • Customers are responsible for all taxes and fees on free lines, if applicable.
  • Rate plan changes from plans listed here as eligible to newer versions (e.g., from Magenta Plus to Magenta MAX - or - from Magenta to Go5G or Go5G Plus) do not typically impact enrollment. To confirm, check the specific rate plan page in Magenta for any limitations or reveiw this page for specific callouts.
