  • Customers who change to T-Mobile ONE (TI) will lose this promo. If they switch back to T-Mobile ONE TE within 30 days, their discount will begin again.
  • Note: If a customer migrates to consumer Magenta, Magenta MAX, or Business Unlimited Ultimate or Advanced rate plans (or from these rate plans to new Go5G plans) after the promo period, they will be allowed to keep their free line. Important: This excludes segmented plans such as 55+, First Responder, and Military plans, as well as Business versions of Magenta and Magenta MAX plans.

  • Customers already receiving a free line from another offer will only receive one additional free line with this promotion (for a total maximum of two lines free per BAN).
  • T-Mobile ONE (TE) Customers who have two free lines from this promotion can also participate in 2 AAL's for the Price of 1 and keep their free lines when they meet the requirements of both promotions.

  • Max 20 line limit per BAN: @TFB customers can participate with BANs (pre-offer) of up to 18 lines (for example, max of 20 lines after taking two free lines). This line count includes all lines on the BAN – voice, MI, wearable.

Payout

Monthly credits for the cost of up to 2 lines activated during the promo window for the lifetime of the lines when customers pay for service on at least two voice lines on the account.

  • The qualifying two lines with the lowest MRC activated get the free discount based lowest to highest order: wearable, Mobile Internet, Voice.
  • Credit for voice lines only applies to talk, text and $0 data lines; data add-on greater than $0 will be customer’s responsibility to pay.
  • Maximum credit of $25 for MI lines regardless of data bucket size. Customer are responsible for difference. The $25 credit can be combined with auto MI plus Voice discount.
  • Payout maximum is $35. Customers on Go5G Next and/or Experience Beyond plans will see a credit amount of $35 for their qualifying line.

Review & take action

To get two additional lines for free, you must:

  • Have a T-Mobile ONE (tax exclusive), Simple Choice, and qualified Select Choice plan
  • Paid for at least two voice lines of service
  • Activate your new lines between November 18 - November 22

Once you qualify for this promo, you'll see bill credits for your new free additional lines being within two bill cycles of activation.

Please be aware that you can lose this promotional credit for free lines if you:

  • Change to a T-Mobile ONE tax inclusive plan
  • Cancel any lines that were on your account when you opted into this promotion. (You can cancel lines activated after November 22, 2016 and still receive your discount.)
  • Cancel the lines receiving the promotional credit. (You'll have 30 days to resume the lines to get your credit again.)

How to redeem

  1. Explain the promo details under What's the deal.
  2. Confirm the customer is on an eligible rate plan.
  3. Assist the customer with processing their activations/AALs to meet the line requirements for the promotion. Initiate any port-in requests at this time. For future-dated activations on November 17 only, select BYOD as the financing option.
  4. Advise customers that it may take up to two full bill cycle after activation to complete before their bill credits are applied.

Having trouble?

Handling incorrect product type escalations

  • If the customer was activated on a GSM line incorrectly, change the line to MBB.
  • If the customer was activated on a MBB line incorrectly, refer to Change Product/Line Type: Samson for proper handling.
  • Customers will still qualify for the promotion as long as the MSISDN is active after making a product type change.

Handling add a line activation issues

A small number of customers who added lines during our Magenta Friday promotion have had issues with their order being activated when it shipped. For customers receiving an inactive SIM card, or checking SIM card status, follow these steps:

  • Care: For customers calling in about receiving an inactive SIM, follow these steps to transfer to Activations. Or, if completing a follow-up where the customer says their SIM arrived inactive, own the call and assist with port-ins and activation.
  • Activations: Assist customers with activation following these steps.

  • On January 26, 2017, about 168,000 customers who were not getting the appropriate adjustment for this offer were issued credits to correct the discrepancy and the following memo was placed on their account: Customer was inadvertently not issued the appropriate credit for a line added during the Friends and Family 2 lines on Us promo. Credit issued for the prorated charges. No further action is necessary.
  • Customers may be enrolled manually into this offer using Discount SOCs added in the Discount windows. You can confirm this by reviewing the account for the following Discount SOC codes at the subscriber and BAN discount levels:
    • YUK100AAL – Voice Line (SUB Level discount)
    • YUK100MI – MI Line (SUB Level discount)
    • YUK4LFREE – for 4 Line promo plans (provides one line discount) (BAN Level discount)

About discount billing

  • Bill credit will apply monthly for as long as the customer meets the criteria listed in the What's the deal section.
  • It may take up to two full bill cycle after activation to complete before bill credits are applied. If credit is not applied on the first bill, two credits will appear on the second bill.
  • Within two billing cycles, customers who are approved for this promotion will have the following memo added to their account:
    Customer has been approved for “2016 Friends and Family 2 Lines On Us” offer as eligibility criteria has been met. See Offer ID 426168 for full details.
  • Bill credits do not show in Samson Adjustment History, but do appear on the bill statement and in Atlas. Discount adjustments can only be viewed in Atlas.
  • Customers who have MI plans below $25 will match the MRC of that plan (e.g., T-Mobile ONE MI plan with AutoPay is $20 and will receive a $20 discount).

Future account changes

  • Change of responsibility may cause the customer to lose their free AALs.
    • If the new BAN meets the promotion eligibility criteria, then the line moving over will continue to receive discounts.
    • The existing BAN will stop receiving the discount for the line that moved as the line is no longer on the BAN.
  • Customers must keep their account in good standing with the lines active to receive the monthly promotional bill credit.
    • If the account is suspended for any reason, the credits will stop.
    • Once the account is restored, the credits will resume. Customers are not eligible to receive credits they may have missed while suspended.
  • Customers who cancel any lines on their account that were on their account when they opted in to the promotional offer will lose their discount. Exception: Lines activated after November 22, 2016, can be canceled without impact the customer's promotion.
  • If the customer cancels the line(s) activated under this promotion, they will lose their promotional credit. They can resume the cancelled line within 30 days and the promotional credit will resume. Customers will not receive any credits that were missed when the line(s) was cancelled.
  • Customers should not complete MSISDN changes aside from number port-ins until credits appear. If the MISDIN has changed, see Handling other escalations above.
  • Port in requests
    • Sales: All number transfers (also known as port requests) are to be submitted at the time the activation is submitted. It is not acceptable to bypass the established process by activating a new T-Mobile number and then requesting a number change after the activation is complete.
    • Care: AAL orders through TOM may continue to be activated with temporary number, and customer can initiate port in once equipment is received.
    • @TFB: Port in requests must be submitted at time of activation. See Porting lines for business customers: TFB Direct & Dedicated Expert.
  • Rate plan changes to a newer version of an eligible plan (like retired plans replaced with new versions) will not impact the offer enrollment if the customer continues to meet all other requirements.

Reminders

  • Customer is responsible for all taxes and fees on free lines.
  • Customers who placed a new activation order with Telesales or an AAL order with Care during the promotional window are eligible for this offer even if the activation took place while the order was in transit.
  • Payout maximum is $35. Customers on Go5G Next and/or Experience Beyond plans will see a credit amount of $35 for their qualifying line.
